Thank you!
While all are not related to indoor tanning, we still want to say "Thank you" to a number of organizations and groups whom we
have benefited from over the years, and honestly, we just wouldn't feel right if we didn't give credit where it is due. UVA SunSystems,
Inc. uses and endorses Free and Open Software, and encourages our customers to consider using (and contributing to) Free and Open Software when
possible. They are listed in no particular order. |
 |
FreeBSD - All our ecommerce servers use FreeBSD as do all
ecommerce websites hosted by Yahoo. We started using FreeBSD in 2000. |
 |
CentOS Linux - Free and open source, community supported version of
the GNU/Linux operating system, based on and binary compatible with the sources from RedHat. We have
used Linux since 1994, and CentOS's version since 2004. |
 |
Apache HTTP Server - The majority of websites on the internet use
Apache as the software to host and serve their pages. We have used Apache since the 1990s. Free and Open Source software.
|
 |
Open Office - Free, complete and compatible office
productivity suite that can easily replace MS Office, at no cost. The fork, LibreOffice is another
office software package to consider. |
 |
GNU - GNU is many things, an operating system, and organization that
promotes Free Software, and a license that many Free Software writers use. Many of the software packages we use are licensed under the
GNU/GPL. We encourage you to learn more from their website. |
 |
Perl - As the "Swiss army knife of programming
languages", Perl is the most used language on the internet, and we use it for all our forms, email features and other special
applications. It is a Free Software package available on almost every operating system. |
 |
PHP - PHP is a widely used scripting language used on this and many other
websites to generate content. It is Free Software, licensed under a BSD style license. |
 |
W3Schools.com - While they are not particuarly involved in the Free
and Open Software movement, they are a very handy, and free, resource for learning how to write webpages, and have assisted the author of
this website many times over the years.

 |
TanningBeds.org - An ad-free blog that is supported in part by
SunMaster, to give advice and information to all home tanning bed owners, regardless of which brand they own. Lots of archived diagrams and
information.
