They look different because they are different.
SunMaster ClearTech Series tanning lamps rocked the entire industry a few short years ago, by introducing a completely new idea in tanning lamps. All regular tanning lamps use
generic glass "blanks" in their constructions. This means that the same glass used in an office light is used for regular tanning lamps. This was acceptable for
years, but the glass has always been known to block much of the ultraviolet, so no matter what you did inside the lamp, you always had to deal with the limitations of the glass itself.
ClearTech changed all of this by throwing away the old glass and inventing something better.
The glass used in all ClearTech lamps was originally developed and patented by LightTech, LTD of Hungary, who brought it to us for trials. Testing made it obvious that this was a
better technology, so we combined forces and spent the next year testing and developing 100w and 160w versions for tanning beds. The result is ClearTech. We licensed this
technology and made it available to the public, and it instantly gained the highest customer satisfaction rating of any lamp we have ever produced. Salons who try ClearTech lamps
swear they will never go back to any other brand, and home tanning bed owners who install them tell us that they are finally getting the results they were promised when they
purchased their tanning beds. The entire history of ClearTech has been universal acclaim. In short, they work better because they let more tanning rays shine through.
ClearTech lamps look different because they are different. They last twice as long as regular lamps, up to 1600 hours or more. When lit, they are green in color due to a unique
blend of phosphors inside, and they appear to be a little brighter. They are designed to be "medium hot" like a Plus style lamp, but with up to double the overal UVA
bronzing when compared to generic lamps. They are a significant upgrade from Wolff and other older style technologies, yet they will install and work perfectly in any tanning bed
that used the older style Wolff or similar lamps. They cost more than regular lamps, but because of their long lives, they actually cost less per session than
any regular tanning lamp offered by any retailer. This has made them an obvious choice for high volume salons, but they make just as much sense in small salons and home tanning
systems. In the average salon, they will last two years instead of one, and in a home tanning bed they are expected to last at least 10 years.
